·In the event of a fire, the following guidelines need to be observed to evacuate the promises.
·If you discover a fire, report it immediately to Reception (Dial 2200). Evacuate the building
through the nearest escape route. (As displayed on the back of your room door)
·Do not stop to take personal belongings.
·Keep calm and do not run.
·Report to the assembly area in the guest parking on the ground floor, just outside the front entrance to the property
·Please do not stop to search for relatives or friends. The fastest way for them to be located is for everyone to proceed to the assembly area, which is situated in the lounge on the Ground Floor.
·If the route is filled with smoke, crouch as low as possible.
·Please keep as quiet as possible and follow the instructions of the Manager in charge.
·If you cannot escape via the escape routes due to fire and smoke, close the door and open
the window. Use a sheet or towel to attract the attention of a rescue team member.
·DO NOT use the elevator in case of a fire.
·Do not go back into the building before the Manager in charge has given the all-clear.

Accounts are payable on presentation of the bill, in cash, or by credit card. We regret that cheques and foreign currency are not accepted.

Please be advised with the exception of guide dogs, animals are not permitted in the rooms.

Bar & Lounge
Please feel free to come join us at The Hyde Bar and Lounge located on the ground floor or at SKYE bar on the 7th floor. The bar will be trading from 11h00 until 02h00

Blankets & Pillows
Extra blankets are provided in every room, however, if you have any other bedding requirements, please contact reception (Dial 2200) with your request.

A full buffet breakfast and a la carte menu is served daily from 07:00 – 10:30 in London Road Bistro on the ground floor. Should you require Breakfast prior to 07:00 please place your order and request with reception 24 hours before. Breakfast can be served in the rooms and will be subject to a room service tray charge. Any other breakfast requirements can be given to reception in order for us to make the necessary arrangements.

Car Hire
Should you wish to explore the many places of interest in and around Cape Town by car, we shall gladly assist in arranging a rental vehicle for you. Please contact our concierge by dialing 2805.

Scenic Care Hire – Within walking distance from the hotel and is reasonably priced.
Avis Car Hire – Has preferred rates with the hotel and offers excellent service.
Europe Car Hire – Reasonably priced with a wide range of vehicles.

Please be advised we will require credit card details and your driver’s license in order to book your rental vehicle on your behalf.

Currency and money matters
South African currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). Forex facilities are available all over the city and in all the banks. You can also draw money from your foreign bank cards at every ATM. The closest and most convenient foreign exchange office is the Foreign Exchange Branch located at The Point Mall in Sea Point Regent road, please contact reception for any further assistance.

A house Doctor can be contacted at any hour of the day or night. In the event of an emergency please contact our reception desk and they will gladly assist.

Departure / Check-out
Our check-out time is 11h00 if you wish to organize a late check-out please contact reception and they will assist where possible, an extra cost may be charged and is subject to availability.

Do Not Disturb
For your comfort and convenience, there is a Do Not Disturb sign placed on your door, if you wish not to be disturbed please slide this sign on the outside of your door and our staff will honor this request. Alternatively, should you need your room to be cleaned, please slide the sign the other way so housekeeping can make up your room.

Dry cleaning and Laundry Service
We provide you with a laundry service. Please use the laundry bag & slip provided in the wardrobe. Laundry picked up before 08h00 will be returned the same day before 19h00.
Please be advised that the hotel does not permit laundry to be air-dried on the railings of your room.

Duty Manager
There is a Duty Manager on call at all times to assist with any requirements you may have.
Please dial ext 2200 to contact the Duty Manager.

When your key card is removed from the power point, a few selected power outlets will still be available to meet your basic needs. In case of power failure, we have generators, which will supply electricity to the ground floor and lift. The voltage at The Hyde is 220V. Please be advised we are an environmentally friendly hotel, please remove the electricity card when you leave the room and when you go to sleep at night. International plugs are available in the rooms behind the couch in the lounge area.

Should you require flowers, please contact Reception who will make the necessary arrangements with a local florist.

Guest Questionnaire
We would like to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Please do not hesitate to make any suggestions or comments that would help improve your experience. Please assist us in the constant improvement of our services and facilities offered by completing the guest questionnaire which will be sent to your email address on departure.

The Hyde offers you the use of a fully equipped gym. It is important that you adhere to the safety instructions and proper attire request. This facility is used at its own risk and is available 24 hours a day. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to use the gym equipment without the supervision of an adult.

Appointments can be made at a local salon by our concierge. Hairdryers are provided in the room.

Lost & Found
If you misplace any item or belonging, please inform us immediately. Any items found and handed into us will be carefully stored at a place of safekeeping.

Luggage Assistance
If you require assistance with your luggage, please contact our concierge service on ext 2805 who will gladly assist you.

If you experience any defects or malfunctions in your room, please notify our Duty Manager or contact reception on ext. 2200 in order for us to rectify it immediately.

The reception will gladly accept any mail for posting. Stamps are available for purchase at the reception at an additional charge. Postal services are closed on Sundays and public
holidays. Incoming mail will be sent to your room during your stay or redirected to your forwarding address after your departure.

The Hyde offers a secure underground parking facility. The Hyde is not liable for any loss or damages to the cars in the parking area.

As we are an environmentally friendly hotel, towels placed on the towel rail will not be laundered. Should you wish to have your towels laundered, kindly place them on the floor of
your bathroom where they will collect by your room attendant.

Wake-up Calls
To book a wakeup call kindly contact reception on ext. 2200 who will gladly assist you.

The tap water in your room is safe to drink. However, bottled water is available in your mini bar and on request from reception.

We have recently replaced our flat-screen TVs with Upgraded SMART TVs. As a result, we no longer offer DSTV channels. You are welcome to log into your private online channels such as NETFLIX using your own account details. If you do not have NETFLIX log-in details, please contact reception, and we will gladly log you into our Profile at an additional fee. We hope you enjoy your new expanded viewing options!

The Hyde has its own in-house restaurant called London Road Bistro & SKYE bar.

London Road Bistro offers a delectable dining experience where you can indulge in a variety of our Executive Chefs’ specialties. Start your day with a full English buffet breakfast, enjoy a light meal at lunchtime and end the day by dining by candlelight with our carefully selected A La Carte Menu. Our hotel also has a spectacular Skye deck where guests can enjoy a drink while enjoying the sunset. Our meals are made from locally sourced produce, offering a fresh delivery daily. For a more intimate option order room service and enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks in the comfort of your own Suite. We can cater for most dietary requirements.

SKYE Deck, Dining & Roof Bar
Our beautiful rooftop swimming pool has amazing views of Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill as well as views over the Atlantic Ocean. Towels are provided at the entrance to the pool. The SKYE Dining room offers a wide range of drinks and food items. Swimming is at your own risk and children under 12 require adult supervision at all times. Please note that due to strong winds throughout the year in Cape Town and Sea Point, umbrellas are only put on the deck depending on the weather conditions. Your attendant will inform you if we are unable to put one out. Skye Deck is open from 7h00 to 23h00 and the Dining room and Roofbar is open from 12h00 to 23h00 daily. The kitchen closes at 22h00. Top 10 things to do in Cape Town:
Table Mountain:
Featuring some of the most spectacular views from the summit, Table Mountain also offers various hiking trails and a restaurant. The first trip up is 08h00, the last trip up at 18h30 & last trip down at 19h30 – Weather Permitting

Robben Island:
Robben Island, a former prison (now a national monument), was home to many of South Africa’s freedom fighters including Former President Nelson Mandela. Ferries depart at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm – Weather Permitting
