Table Mountain

Table Mountain is one of the official New7Wonders of Nature. You can get to the top of Cape Town’s most famous icon in just five minutes by taking a cable car up or spend the better part of your day hiking it. Table Mountain Cableway, established in 1929, takes visitors to the top in one of two cable cars, each with rotating floors and huge windows to ensure your views while travelling are almost as spectacular as those on the summit.

Kirstenbosch Gardens

17.4 km from the Hyde – Kirstenbosch is South Africa’s world-famous national botanical garden, set against the backdrop of Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak, and home to more than 22 000 indigenous plants. Kirstenbosch is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

Atlantic Seaboard Beaches

The Hyde Hotel is lucky to be located in the vicinity of the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town. The area is a vast stretch from Victoria & Alfred Waterfront on the north shore of Table Mountain all the way down the west side of the Cape Peninsula to Hout Bay.
This is among the most visited beachside areas during summer.

Township Tour

Khayelitsha (meaning “new home”) is one of Cape Town’s largest townships and is situated some 30 km from the Mother City. It consists of both formal accommodation (houses of bricks and mortar) and informal settlements (makeshift shacks). This is a township with its eyes on the future.

If it’s a perfect opportunity for birding you are looking for look no further than the World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary. It is the largest bird park in Africa and one of the few large bird parks in the World. It is home to over 3000 birds and over 400 species. The sanctuary is uniquely located along the Atlantic Seaboard, in Hout Bay so you can enjoy the drive as you make your way to get in touch with nature at the sanctuary.
